Graece Σύναξις, apud Graecos Patres, variosque medii aevi Scriptores Latinos, inter quos vide Cassiodor. l. 4. c. 16. participationem divinae Eucharistiae seu Communionem corporis et sanguinis Domini notat, praeeunte Scripturâ, Actor. c. 20. v. 7. 1. Corinth. c. 11. v. 20, 26, 27, 33. Aliter ΣυνέλευϚις Graecis, Latinis eôdem sensu Conventus quoque et Collecta. Inde vox transiata, ad Conventum seu Congregationem Monachoum, orationis et psalmodiae ergo, coeuntium: item ad Cursum seu Officium Ecclesiasticum, significandum, uti videre est apud Car. du Fresne in Glossar. et Macros Fratres in Hierolex. Hinc Synaxaria, Ecclesiastici Graecorum libri nomen, in quo vitae Sanctorum et Martyrum in compendium redactae et succincta expositio habetur sollennitatis, de qua agitur, Xanthopulô auctore: Vide Cl.
